Install day

Our engineer will arrive within your chosen time slot. They'll run fibre to your property (using existing ducts or telegraph poles where possible to minimise disruption), install a small wall box, and connect your eero 6+ router.

Most installs take 1–2 hours. Someone over 18 needs to be home for the duration.

Before your engineer arrives

  • Think about where you'd like your router placed — near a power socket, ideally central to your home
  • If you're renting, check you have permission from your landlord
  • Clear access to the outside wall where fibre will enter (usually follows the existing phone line route)

You're live

Your engineer will test the connection, help you get your devices online, and make sure everything is working before they leave. Your billing starts from this point — not before.

Installation FAQs

How long does the installation take?
Most installations are completed in 1–2 hours. The fibre runs along the same route as your existing phone line (overhead or underground), so disruption is minimal.
Can I reschedule my installation?
Yes, you can reschedule for free. Just contact our team and we'll find a new slot that works for you.
Do I need to be home?
Yes, someone aged 18 or over needs to be present for the full installation. Our engineer will need access inside to install the wall box and set up your router.
Will you drill holes in my wall?
A small hole (about the width of a pencil) is needed to bring the fibre cable inside your property. Our engineer will discuss the best entry point with you before any work begins and will seal it neatly afterwards.
I'm renting — can I still get Pine Media?
Yes. You'll just need written permission from your landlord or letting agent for the installation. Full fibre adds value to a property, so most landlords are happy to approve it.
What happens to my old broadband?
If you're switching via One Touch Switch, we handle everything with your old provider — you don't need to contact them. Your old service will be cancelled automatically once your Pine Media connection is live.
