When a fixed address helps
A static IP can help with these setups. Everyday browsing, cloud apps and video calls usually work without one.

Use a consistent address for a VPN server at your premises, with access and authentication configured by your IT team.
Use a fixed address for a server or other service at your premises. Your router and firewall need to be configured for access.
Our default broadband uses carrier-grade NAT (CGNAT), sharing public IPv4 addresses across connections. The static IP add-on gives your line its own public address. Incoming access still depends on your router, firewall and application settings.
Choose your connection
Add a static IP at sign-up or ask us to add it to an existing broadband line. Leased-line plans already include static IPs.
The practical details
Tell us what your application needs and we’ll help you check the options.

Many outbound VPNs and cloud-based remote-access services work through CGNAT; check your application’s requirements.
