New high-capacity fibre spine completed across Sheffield

We've completed a significant new piece of network infrastructure - a high-capacity, high fibre count spine route running across Sheffield. This backbone gives us the capacity to reach thousands of additional premises as we expand westward.

Opening up Broomhill and Crookes

This new spine is the key enabler for our rollout into Broomhill and Crookes, two areas with strong demand for better broadband. With the backbone in place, our engineers can now fan out into residential streets and connect homes and businesses directly to our full fibre network.

New equipment, faster builds

We've also invested in new Kaiser M5 and Jetting fibre blowing machines, purpose-built for installing fibre optic cables quickly and efficiently through existing duct infrastructure. These machines let us blow fibre over longer distances with greater precision, meaning we can build faster while maintaining the quality our customers expect.

Built to scale

Unlike minimum-viable builds, our spine routes are designed with headroom for future growth. The high fibre count cables we're installing today give us capacity to serve these communities for decades to come - no digging up the road again when demand increases.
