Expanding our rural network: Loxley, Whirlow and beyond

Full fibre broadband shouldn't be a luxury reserved for city centres. That's why we're continuing to extend our network into Sheffield's rural and semi-rural communities, starting from the networks we've already built in areas like Loxley and Whirlow.

Building outward from strength

Our approach has always been to build dense, high-quality networks and then expand outward. In Loxley and Whirlow, we already have established infrastructure serving local residents. Now we're pushing further into surrounding areas, connecting neighbouring streets and communities that have historically been left behind by larger providers.

Why rural matters

Many of these communities are still relying on slow copper connections or patchy fixed wireless. For people working from home, running farm businesses, or simply trying to stream a film in the evening, the difference that full fibre makes is enormous. Symmetrical speeds, rock-solid reliability, and no peak-time slowdowns.

Being a Sheffield-based company gives us an advantage in these areas. Our engineers know the terrain, the infrastructure and the communities. We work closely with local residents and parish councils to plan routes that minimise disruption and maximise coverage.
